Coffee, Cocoa and Honey

The gourmet treasures of Chamarel

In Chamarel, Agrïa unveils the soul of the Mauritian terroir through high-altitude coffee with delicate aromas, promising cocoa, and pure honey—reflecting a generous nature and artisanal expertise

LE CAFE DE CHAMAREL

Made from 99% Arabica beans, Café de Chamarel is the only coffee produced in Mauritius — a true symbol of authenticity and local craftsmanship.

Since the 1970s, it has been wet-processed, a meticulous method in which the beans are pulped, fermented for 72 hours, and then carefully dried.
In 2025, the introduction of a second, dry-processing method unveiled new, richer, and more complex aromas.

Hand-roasted to preserve the purity of its flavors, Café de Chamarel earned a score of 82/100 from a certified Q-Grader, placing it among the top 7% of the finest coffees in the world.

Cocoa

Originating from the Criollo variety — one of the rarest and most prestigious in the world (representing less than 5% of global production) — Chamarel chocolate embodies the full richness of its terroir.

Thanks to an ideal climate and highly diverse soils, Criollo delivers exceptional aromatic finesse, natural delicacy, and a subtle hint of bitterness.

After seven years of patient cultivation, the pods are harvested by hand, then fermented for seven days, sun-dried, and carefully roasted.

The result: a chocolate of rare purity — elegant, aromatic, and deeply rooted in the exceptional terroir of Chamarel.

THE Honey

The fruit of passionate craftsmanship by beekeeper Etienne de Senneville, Chamarel Honey is 100% pure and locally produced. It comes from a diverse flora including eucalyptus, tamarind, and pink pepper. With a rich and complex flavor profile, it is crafted using respectful, artisanal methods — a true reflection of Mauritian authenticity.
